 The Purpose of Publication Ethics

Duties and Responsibilities of Scientific Journal Managers

  1. Determine the name of the journal, scientific scope, scale, and accreditation if needed
  2. Determine the membership of the board of directors
  3. Defines the relationship between publishers, editors, reviewer, and other parties in a contract
  4. Appreciate things that are confidential, both contributing researchers, editors, and reviewer
  5. Applying norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright
  6. Reviewing journal policies and submitting them to authors, the editorial board, peer review partners, and readers
  7. Generate behavioral code guides for editors and peer-reviewed partners
  8. Publishing journals regularly
  9. Ensuring the availability of sources of funds for the sustainability of journal publishing
  10. Build cooperation and marketing networks
  11. Preparing licensing and other aspects of legality.


Duties and Responsibilities of the Editor 

  1. Meeting the needs of readers and authors
  2. Strive to improve the quality of publications in a sustainable manner
  3. Implement processes to ensure the quality of published papers
  4. Prioritizing freedom of opinion objectively
  5. Maintain the integrity of the author's academic track record
  6. Deliver corrections, clarifications, withdrawals, and apologies as needed
  7. Responsible for style, the format of written word, while the content and all statements in the written work are the responsibility of the author
  8. Actively soliciting the opinion of authors, readers, peer reviewers, and members of the editorial board to improve the quality of publications
  9. Encourage an assessment of the journal when there are findings
  10. Encourage authors to be able to complete their written works until they are fit for publication.


Reviewer Responsibility 

  1. Received assignment from the editor to review the paper and submit results of the review to the editor as material for determining eligibility of a paper for publication
  2. Written work is reviewed promptly according to the style of the published environment based on scientific principles (data collection methods, author legality, conclusions)
  3. Reviewing papers that have been corrected according to predetermined standards.

 

Code of Ethics for Authors

  1. Make a statement that the written work submitted for publication is original, has not been published anywhere in any language, and is not in the process of being submitted to another publisher. If there is a mistake in the paper, the author immediately notifies the editor or publisher.
  2. Ensure the names listed as authors are included according to their contributions and approved by all members. If there is a change, reduction, or addition of the author's name, it must be agreed upon by the other authors. The author ensures that all parties who contribute non-substantively to the paper will be gratefully acknowledged.
  3. Collectively responsible for the article's work and content, which includes methods, analysis, calculations, and details.
  4. Inform the editorial team if they will withdraw their written work.
  5. Inform the editorial staff about written works, which are part of gradual, multidisciplinary, and different perspective research.
  6. When requested the authors prepare the evidence that the research carried out has met the study's ethical requirements, including providing field notes or research logbooks. The authors respond adequately if there are comments or responses after the paper is published.
  7. Do does not engage in plagiarism or self-plagiarism, the maximum plagiarism tolerance of 20%.
